Permanent Residency in Canada is a status granting to Foreign Nationals the right to live and work in Canada with no limit in stay. There are a number of programs run by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to improve the Economy of Canada. And any foreign national interested can apply to IRCC through one or more programs to become Permanent Resident of Canada, subject to fulfilling the requirements/conditions of that particular program.
The various famous programs at present are-Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Program, Family Sponsorship, Business Immigration, Self Employed, Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program, Startup Visa, Quebec Skilled workers, Refugees, Caregiver, Immigrant Investor, Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Programs etc.
Canadian Permanent Residents enjoy almost all the rights of a Canadian Citizen. But Permanent Residents do not have the right to vote or run in elections in Canada at any level of Government.
